About Mahmood

Mahmood Reza, Owner-Manager

“I’m an experienced working accountant, business, tax advisor and educator, and the Owner-Manager of Pro Active Resolutions and Knowledge Grab. My business began in February 1995, offering accounting, tax, management and training services to a variety of client sectors, including the arts, not for profit and private sector.

My main role within the business is managing the practice, strategic planning, financial management and providing the lead on tax planning and investigation work. I also focus on business and talent development, as well as delivering training, senior level coaching and consultancy.

I am fully focused on helping businesses to refine their financial processes so they can focus on their day to day operations. This could be through using cloud-based software, which we can install, advise and train people on how to implement throughout their business. As Xero Champions, we provide a very high level of expertise in financial technology. Ultimately, our approach is to look at the whole picture, understanding what a business or organisation needs to develop and grow sustainably.

I started my full-time working life as a Business & Law lecturer in 1989. After a successful transfer into industry, I worked for over 5 years as a divisional accountant reporting to board level.

My extensive teaching and learning background now stretches over 35 years. I have taught, trained and delivered at all levels of education in a variety of sectors and settings. From vocational to professional, primary to post graduate, technical to the non-technical, I have experience in all areas. I also teach and train professional accounting students to enable them to qualify and become members of UK and overseas bodies. Plus, I am a registered Oxford Brookes mentor.

Internationally, I have delivered and been involved with a number of Consultancy and Training projects. This includes delivery of professional training in Russia; tax workshops to Senior Cuban Tax officials; and development review for professional accountancy training in Tanzania, Kenya and the Seychelles.

For over 35 years, I have been actively involved in the governance of arts and educational establishments across the East Midlands and beyond. I have worked in both a professional and voluntary capacity to support the charitable, creative and cultural sectors.
